Domain age checker
The date a domain was first registered, and exactly how long ago that was.
Commas, spaces and URLs are fine. Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter) starts the check.
How the age is worked out
The checker reads the registration event from each registry's RDAP record and counts calendar years, months and days to today in UTC. A domain registered on 31 January is one month old on the last day of February, and a leap-day registration has its anniversary on 28 February.
The date is when the current registration began. If a domain expired, was deleted and later registered again, the clock restarted, so an old brand can have a young domain. Some registries publish no creation date; the notes say so rather than guess.
Questions
Does a transfer reset the age?
No. Moving a domain to another registrar keeps its creation date. Only deletion followed by a fresh registration starts a new one.
Does domain age matter for search rankings?
Google has said that domain age on its own is not a ranking factor. Age is still useful context when judging a shop, a sender or a suspicious link.
Can I check many domains at once?
Yes, up to 200 per run. They are checked a few at a time to respect each registry's rate limits, and you can export the table as CSV.
